Bluetooth Hearing Aids

What Bluetooth adds to a hearing aid

Bluetooth hearing aids receive sound directly from a phone, tablet or TV adapter. Phone calls, voice notes, video and music play in both ears at once, already adjusted to your hearing, instead of being picked up by the microphones from a speaker.

Many models also let you take calls hands-free: the hearing aid microphones pick up your voice, so the phone can stay in your pocket.

Check your phone before you choose

Direct streaming support differs between iPhone and Android, and between Android models. Some newer hearing aids also support Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast audio, which is starting to appear in public venues. Bring your phone to the consultation and we will confirm what will work with it before you decide.

Streaming uses more power, so heavy phone users often pair Bluetooth with a rechargeable model.
