What an app-controlled hearing aid lets you do
App-controlled hearing aids pair with the manufacturer's free smartphone app. From the app you can change volume, switch between listening programs (for example a quiet room, a restaurant or outdoors), check battery level on rechargeable models and, on many models, adjust bass and treble within limits your audiologist sets.
The app works alongside the physical buttons, so the hearing aids still work normally if your phone is off or out of reach.
Who they suit
They suit people who already use a smartphone every day and want discreet control without reaching for their ears. If you find small buttons fiddly, the app is often easier to use than the device controls.
App compatibility depends on your phone model and operating system version, so bring your phone to the fitting. We install the app, pair both hearing aids and show you each control before you leave.
