Digital Hearing Aids

What a digital hearing aid does

A digital hearing aid splits incoming sound into frequency channels and amplifies each one by a different amount, following the prescription calculated from your audiogram. It automatically turns down steady background noise, controls feedback (whistling) and keeps loud sounds comfortable.

All of the hearing aids we fit are digital. The differences between models lie in the number of channels, how well they separate speech from noise and which extra features, such as rechargeable batteries or Bluetooth, are included.

Why programming matters as much as the device

A digital hearing aid is only as good as its programming. Our audiologists program each device to your test results, then fine-tune it to how sounds feel to you. Your first follow-up fine-tuning is after 4 weeks, once your brain has adjusted, and programming is free for the first year.
